The German cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected a new Pope on April 19, 2005 and adopted the name of Benedicto XVI.
The Pope Benedicto XVI visited Valencia the day 8 and 9 of July.
The people of Valencia and the rest of Spain was very interested in the visit because is the first time that the Pope travels to Spain.
The city council of Valencia invested much money in this visit.
